The Maine Birthday Book celebrates the wonder, wildlife and geography of Maine through the birthday stories and special wishes of animal friends.

A children’s book?

On a warm summer’s evening in early July 2018, I was on a walk near my home thinking about nothing when the idea for a children’s book showed up. It was like the trees whispered it. Three deer witnessed.

So I wrote it.

New to book making but experienced in music and film marketing, I thought as long as I could figure out how to get the book out in the world, I would have a pretty good chance at getting it to the people it would matter to.

Then the pandemic came along.

And my marketing plan went away.

Four years later, I’m happy to say that The Maine Birthday Book, fronted by Laura Winslow’s incredible illustrations, has shown that it makes friends extremely well, even with its marketing plan full of cross-outs and eraser marks, write-ins and winging-its.

Thanks to thousands of customers - many of them repeat customers - I’ve been able to figure out a way to get a second book - and soon a third book - in the world. THANK YOU.
